Anne Dancey graduated from Glasgow University in 1999 with distinction and honours in medicine and surgery. After completing her general surgical training at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, she was one of the youngest surgeons in the United Kingdom to be appointed as a Plastic Surgery Registrar and pass the specialist exam in Plastic Surgery. She was also awarded a Masters Degree in Medical Science with Honours.
Miss Waters is a consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon at University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. She has a specialist interest in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast. She also has interests in skin oncology, skin lasers and microvascular surgery. As well as her work in Birmingham she provides breast reconstruction services to Queens Hospital Burton.

Lymphoedema management received at the BMI Priory will encompass all aspects of care, including a full assessment, medical lymphatic drainage and compression.
Mrs Julie Cunneen qualified as a nurse in 1986 and worked at hospitals across Birmingham gaining a solid background in surgery and medical oncology. She was appointed as a Macmillan Lymphoedema Specialist in 1999 and helped establish one of the first lymphoedema clinics in Birmingham.
Julie holds an MSc in Health Sciences from the University of Birmingham along with being qualified as an Independent Nurse Prescriber. She is currently a clinical lead for lymphoedema services across Birmingham at a local healthcare trust.
Dr Meera Bryant is a Consultant Anaesthetist specialising in plastic surgery, urology and intensive care medicine. She qualified as a doctor in India in 1986 before she moved to England to continue her training. She completed her Fellowship at the Warwickshire School of Anaesthetics and now has a NHS practice at the George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton.
She brings a wealth of experience to the Birmingham Breast Clinic team having previously help set up the Breast Reconstruction Anaesthetic Service at the George Eliot with Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Mr Alan Park.
Dr Bryant speaks Hindi, Urdu and Marathi. She says that, for those women that do have a preference, an all-female breast team would be welcome addition to the region’s healthcare services.
Please note that whilst Dr Meera Bryant is part of our team, there are 4 anaesthetists that we use regularly (3 male and 1 female), but if you have a preference for a female anaesthetist please let us know.
Nurse and qualified Micropigmentation Practitioner
Miss Anne Keogh has been a nurse for more than 35 years and for the last 10 years has helped support and care for women who have had breast reconstruction following treatment for breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. She is a qualified Micropigmentation Practitioner and specialises in Micropigmentation (tattooing) of the nipple and areola. She retired from working in the NHS in August 2013 and now practices exclusively at BMI Priory Hospital in Birmingham.
